Inkjet Media

What is an inkjet printer?

An inkjet printer is a printer that spreads droplets of ink directly onto the medium. Today, most inkjet printers uses a four ink color cartridge: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black. Each one of these four is replaced separately. Inkjet printers will give the printing process solutions on both short and long productions. In addition, color ink-jet printers provide an inexpensive way to print full-color documents.

How inkjet printers work?

The ink is diffused onto the printing media (paper) in small, tiny thin droplets (huge small thickness), in very accurate points, continuously to get the design the desired image. How exact are these dots is expressed in the maximum number of dots per inch or “dpi” – that’s the printer resolution, Color printing involves mixing dots of different primary colors.

Inkjet printing can take two forms:

  • Bubble jet printing, when the ink bubbles is heated and thrown onto the paper through extra small nozzles.
  • Piezoelectric printing, when the vibrational movement of electrically charged piezo crystals held the main control to spray the ink onto the paper.
